Growing older means gaining wisdom from my experiences.
I embrace the aging process. I gleefully anticipate the coming year because I am a positive thinker. I expect only great things to come my way as I get older.
As I grow older, I continue to gain wisdom from my experiences. I avoid taking any experience at face value and spend time looking at the lessons.
New experiences teach me how to handle similar situations the next time around. They also help prepare me to be smarter and quicker with my responses. I use my own personal experiences to teach my loved ones how to cope with the unexpected.
As the days and years go by, I learn more about those who surround me. I see their strengths and weaknesses. I am better able to support them because I have experienced many challenges and successes.
The wisdom that comes with age helps me choose who I want to associate with. I stay far away from those whose choices counteract mine.
I appreciate my maturity with each year that passes. I reflect and realize how differently I deal with situations now. I am sometimes embarrassed by my past actions. But I know they are an important part of my history.
Today, my wisdom is my greatest asset. I look forward to developing even more wisdom as I grow older.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What wisdom have I acquired this past year?
2. In what ways can I use trying circumstances faced by others to build my own resolve?
3. How can I gain wisdom from emotionally difficult situations?
